Hosting Infrastructure

The installation was the first iteration of an ongoing project called 'Hosting Infrastructure,' a series that explored the power of simplicity and adaptability in creating spaces for communal experiences. The wooden parts which made up the installation, painted in bright yellow, are part of ‘The Hosting Infrastructure Kit'. These parts are like giant LEGO pieces that can be assembled to create understructures for public gatherings and events. The wooden kit provides the ‘Hosting Infrastructure’ project with  a tangible and solid form, a counterpoint to the transient, oral, and felt aspects of human interactions. Signs of wear and a developing patina on the wooden parts served as evidence of its journey between spaces and its various forms in previous iterations. 

A core philosophy of Hosting Infrastructure revolves around the liberating and radical potential of temporary structures, reacting and responding dynamically to its surroundings to transform spaces into dynamic places for human connection. 

(Dub Version)

(Dub Version) was an installation made for Meteor International Theatre Festival in collaboration with Prøverommet. Throughout the festival, the installation functioned as a central information hub, performance space, hangout area and pub.

The title (Dub Version) refers to the musical concept of the same name where songs are stripped down to their essentials, often just drums and bass, devoid of lyrics. In a similar vein, this installation embodied the idea of stripping down to essentials, representing the essential infrastructure for a space designed to host and unite people.
