Hosting Infrastructure (Acid Re-Work)

2023

Østre – hus for lydkunst og elektronisk musikk, Bergen.

(Acid Re-Work) is the second iteration of the ongoing project, Hosting Infrastructure. The installation is constructed from a reusable kit of lemon yellow pieces of wood.

The first Hosting Infrastructure installation, (Dub Version) was taken apart and the materials were reassembled to make the house / shed / spaceship shown here in Østre. Part of Ekko experimental music festival, this structure formed an intimate escape from the rest of the festival. The title’s reference to acid house music reflects the project’s approach to reusing and resampling materials as well as finding playful DIY solutions for gathering people.

As this kit of materials moves around the city, being re-worked and assembled in different ways, it will continue to gain patina and traces of previous versions.
